Frequently Asked Questions
"Why should I hire a professional organizer?"
Professional organizers love helping you organize your space, and they bring a non-judgmental, fresh perspective and years of experience to your project.
"Why is your rate this high?"
Organizing is a lot of work! It often involves heavy lifting as well as constant creativity and patience. You are hiring an expert.
The resulting time you will gain in your everyday life will be worth every penny! (Also, the rate covers the costs of running a small business and self-employment.)

"Should I clean up before the consultation?"
No! It is important for me to see your space as-is. It is the reason you contacted me, and I want to talk about how it got that way and how we can make it better.
"Will I have to discard my stuff?"
Only if you want to and are ready to do so. We will talk about what you use, what you need, where it will live, and whether it would better serve someone else. If you decide to let something go, I will work with you on deciding how best to sell, recycle, re-purpose, or donate your items.
"Where do you work?"
I work primarily in Bergen, Passaic, Essex, and Hudson Counties in New Jersey; I will travel as far as Morris and Union Counties as well as the five boroughs of New York City, Rockland, Westchester, and Orange Counties. If travel time is more than an hour from my home in Bergen County, travel charges may apply.
"What won't you do?"
Great question! I won't enter spaces that are hazardous (excessive animal waste, obvious mold, dangerous stairs or floors), I won't try to move furniture that is too heavy, and I won't do more than basic light carpentry. I also am not a qualified interior decorator and would not be your best choice for home staging.
